HEAD COACH DUSTY HUBBARD

Entering his seventh season as the head coach for the Cavaliers, Coach Hubbard continues to raise the standard for the baseball program at Callaway. In his seven seasons Coach Hubbard has directed his teams to 117 wins, 2 region championships, 6 playoff appearances, and 1 final four appearance. 
 
Prior to coming to Callaway, Coach Hubbard began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of West Georgia in 1999. He soon joined Kevin Howard at Lagrange College as the head assistant and pitching coach. In his tenure, the Panthers broke all school records for wins and won their first national championship in 2003. Coach Hubbard also worked in the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization in the summer of 2001. In 2003, Coach Hubbard took his first step into prep coaching at Villa Rica High School as their pitching coach and assistant football coach. In 2005, he came home as the head baseball coach and defensive coordinator at Callaway High School.
 
A graduate of Hogansville High School, Coach Hubbard was an All Region Athlete in Baseball and Football. He was named West Georgia Player of the Year and received a scholarship to Southern Union JC, where they won the Alabama State JC Championship. He then signed with the West Georgia Braves and played in the Division II World Series, finishing 3rd in the nation. Hubbard's West Georgia record for most games played and started still stands.
 
Coach Hubbard is married to the former Miss Courtney Mucha, and they have two sons, Bryce and Anderson. 

COACH ASHLEY SUMMERLIN

In 2005, Coach Summerlin was named to the Cavalier baseball staff under former Coach Frank Glover and has continued his coaching career with Coach Hubbard. Coach Summerlin works with the infielders and can be seen coaching 3rd base on game days. Coach Summerlin also works on the football staff as the special teams coordinator and corner backs coach.
 
Coach Summerlin is a Graduate of Bainbridge High School. He was a 3 year starter for the Bearcats at 1st base and pitcher. During his junior year he was named to the 1-AAAA Honorable Mention Baseball Team. In Coach Summerlin’s final season the Bearcats made the playoffs and he was named to the 1-AAAA All Region Baseball Team. Coach Summerlin began his college career at Enterprise State Junior College. Coach Summerlin was a 2 year starter at 3rd base. In 2002 and 2003, Coach Summerlin played at LaGrange College under Coach Kevin Howard. During his time there, Summerlin was a 2 year starter at 1st base and outfield and named to the All GSAC Baseball Team. In 2003, The Panthers broke all school records in wins and claimed the GSAC Tournament Championship. They also won the 2003 USCAA National Championship which was the schools 1st ever National Championship. Coach Summerlin is married to the former Miss Lindsay Walburg and they have one daughter, Elle.

Coach Nick Drescher

Coach Drescher is beginning his 5th year with Callaway in 2012. Coach Drescher works with the teams outfielders and heads up the junior varsity and 9th grade teams. Coach Drescher was also named the head coach for the girls softball program in 2010, and his teams have made two consecutive playoff appearances.
Coach Drescher graduated from Parkview High School where he played 3 years of varsity baseball. During his time there, Drescher was part of 2 state championship teams and served dual roles as a starting and relief pitcher. After graduation he attended LaGrange College and played one season of baseball. Coach Drescher graduated from LaGrange College with a degree in History and Masters of Arts in Teaching. He currently teaches U.S. History and Examining the Teacher’s Profession at Callaway High School. He is married to the former Miss Mary-Katherine Pittman of Gainesville, GA.
Coach Freeman
 
Coach Freeman is entering his 7th season with the Callaway Baseball Program. His duties include working with the Cavalier hitters, catchers, and coaching 1st base. Coach Freeman also works with the Cavalier Football Program as the kickers coach.
 
Coach Freeman graduated from Hogansville High School in 1990. While he was there, he was a three year starter as a catcher and pitcher. During his career Freeman was named the team MVP three times and was elected West Georgia Player of the Year in 1990. After Graduation, Freeman played two years at Southern Union Community College. During that time, Coach Freeman was elected offensive player of the year and an All-American. In the Summer of 1991, Freeman lead Team USA in hitting during the Pan Am Games in Cuba. Coach Freeman finished his college career at Jacksonville State.
 
Coach Freeman is married to the former Miss Kelly Jackson and they have three children; Amber, Colby and Chase.
